Doomsday will happen on October 15!

So yesterday fellow clarinetist, Michael Collins, and I scheduled doomsday (a.k.a. our recital) for Oct. 15 in the concert hall of the Singletary Center.  This is a big deal for many reasons, but one of the reasons I didn’t become a music major as a freshman was because I was really afraid of doing a recital.  I had severe performance anxiety and the thought of being on stage all by myself was horrifying!

I think my performance anxiety issues are behind me, but its still a little unnerving knowing that my recital is really going to happen.  I’m playing two solo pieces and a duet with Michael.  One solo piece is with piano and the other is unaccompanied (which means I play by myself).  I started working on the solo pieces last year, and have put in a lot of practice hours this summer.  So I shouldn’t have anything to worry about.

On a separate note… I have two profs who don’t allow students to wear hats in class.  I’ve never had a prof enforce this rule ever before and now I have two profs telling me to take my hat off.  geez
